I have loved black and white photography since I was in Year 7 and did a week of photography as my end of year activities elective. I took and developed black and white photos. I can still remember reaching into the lightless contraption to open my film. My photos were not very good but I have loved black and white photos ever since.
It’s odd but somehow when there is no colour to focus on or distract if you like, the subject seems sharper, it takes on something that is not there when the same photo is viewed in colour, or perhaps that is just my perception.
Along time ago I thought that when I got married I would want only black and white photos. I loved looking through my parents wedding album and wanted my future children to have that same feeling. I looked for a specialist black and white photographer but have not been able to find one in our region.
